Caterina Barbieri - Fantas Variations

All tracks are remakes of the original Fantas by Caterina Barbieri from the album Ecstatic Computation. The original composition laid out a magical path of patterns that lead listeners on a journey into sound itself.

Fantas Variations charts eight new possibilities that emerge from this original journey, created by a diverse mix of artists who have created a wide range of new works extrapolated from the original work. For this project, Barbieri brought together friends and longtime collaborators from various musical backgrounds to create a more sustainable and inclusive scene in terms of stylistic, geographic, gender and generational balance. The result is a diverse range of approaches and instrumentation that blurs the boundaries between acoustic and electronic sound.
