Drab Majesty - An Object In Motion

Drab Majesty's latest 32-minute EP marks the beginning of a new chapter in the band's majestic legacy. Deb Demure wrote it during a trip to the remote Oregon coastal town of Yachats in 2021, leaning into the neo-psychedelic resonance of Ovation's unique bowl-shaped twelve-string acoustic/electric guitar. After early morning hikes in the rain, Deb spent the rest of the day recording ambient guitar experiments where he got into a "flow state" and let the sound guide him. These sessions were then refined or reconstructed and later further elevated through the key collaboration of Rachel Goswell (Slowdive), Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Beck, M83, Air) and Ben Greenberg (Uniform, Circular Ruin Studio). True to its title, An Object In Motion captures the emerging artist's pupal moment, reborn and unfettered, silhouetted against an open horizon.
