About the release and samples
Pustvopol is the archaic name for Pusté Pole, a part of the village of Telgárt in the Slovak district of Brezno, and "Pustvopol, Pustvopol" is a ceremonial, mysterious and fanfare-like folk song from Telgárt that forms the album's main motif.
"Telgárt, Šumiac, Pusté pole. This area evokes excitement and immense curiosity in me. Every time I pass through it, I feel something forgotten, mysterious and strange. How could it not, for this area was once rich and prosperous, thanks to the important European noble family of Coburg.
The concept evolved gradually, born on its own, surprising and emerging as an independent personality - vital, aware of its potential. I explored the area around Pusté Pole more intuitively, through a feeling, an essence that emanates from it, than through facts. I let myself drift and absorb the magical atmosphere and let the whole environment affect me. Everything showed itself to me gradually, as did the whole of Pustvopol, until finally one day I realized that it was going to be different from what we had planned, and it was going to go further than we had expected."
