V0NT - Rovnost

Electronic punks V0NT return with their debut record.

'Equality' is a heavy dystopian collage of cold industrial beats and mutated samples stolen from obscure punk records. The members of V0NT have played in a number of hardcore-punk bands, and their roots are clearly reflected in the record's raw, straightforward energy, even as guitars have replaced samplers, synths and noise effects.

The whole album is built on themes such as guilt, fear, surveillance, faith, obedience, survival and life choices experienced in extreme conditions. This is where the title of the album comes from. 'Rovnost' was a corrective labor camp in totalitarian Czechoslovakia where the ruling regime sent 'personas non grata' to break and subjugate them.
